SEED Center, Sustainability Education and Economic Development
The SEED Center, Sustainability Education and Economic Development is a leadership initiative and green jobs workforce development resource program launched in October 2010 that provides to all community colleges, for free, strategic guidance and a suite of green job workforce development resources including curricula, program guidance, career pathways and certifications, workforce projections, funding opportunities and more, in areas such as renewable energy, energy efficient technologies, green building and building efficiency. ecoAmerica has partnered with the American Association of Community Colleges on this program which taps into the unprecedented opportunity to restore American prosperity via the clean energy and green economies. Green jobs are growing quickly and poised to grow faster than any other sector. As of January 2012, 441 community colleges have joined the SEED Center. The program will empower the nearly 12 million Americans that attend community colleges annually to lead the 21st century green economy as skilled workforce.
