American Climate and Environmental Values Survey (ACEVS)

American Climate and Environmental Values Survey (ACEVS)

The American Climate and Environmental Value Survey (ACEVS) is the third application of sophisticated psychographic research on American environmental and climate values. The goal of ACEVS is to increase the leverage, scale, reach, and most importantly, efficacy, of climate and environmental initiatives by empowering the movement with proven research and methodology for authentically engaging Americans in climate and environmental solutions, bringing these Americans to solutions on their own terms, in context of their choosing, and for their personal benefit.

The report is available for free download here.

ecoAmerica's American Climate and Environmental Values Survey (ACEVS) webinar held on October 27, 2011 is now available on-demand.  Whether you want to hear the presentation for the first time or review what you heard live, you can now access and view a replay of the webinar from your computer.  To gain access to the recording, please send an email to info@ecoAmerica.org stating you would like access to the webinar.  Please provide your full name and organization in the body of the email.

The purpose of the survey is to measure the impact of Americans' economic, health, family, community, security and other social values in comparison to their attitudes about climate and the environment and their participation in sustainable consumer and public policy behaviors.

The research work was conducted by Strategic Business Insights using their proprietary VALS methodology and shows pathways for social change based on a "diffusion model." This identifies which segments of people will adopt behaviors and, in turn, influence others to do the same.

Partners include NRDC, EDF, National Audubon Society, The Nature Conservancy, Defenders of Wildlife, and the Ocean Conservancy.
